It simply means “equal probability of occurrence”. Thus “Random
Designer” actually describes the “Equal Opportunity Designer”.
In addition, consider this: An electrical engineer is not electrical. He/she simply uses
electricity to accomplish the intended purposes of the trade. Likewise, a software engineer,
an interior designer, and a variety of other professionals working their trades are understood
in a similar manner. In the same way, “Random Designer” DOES NOT describe a creator who is
inherently random. To the contrary, it describes an ingenious creator who is beyond us – a
God who molds and shapes the forces of randomness to accomplish His profoundly creative purposes.
Finally, one of the messages of Random Designer is that opportunities for personal and
spiritual growth are right before us, but they are only available to those with the courage
to look beyond traditional religious and scientific boundaries. Indeed, scriptures abound
with parables that challenge the people to openly explore new depths of meaning and understanding.
The promise of scripture is that in the midst of the mystery, God will meet us - offering
grand new insights and perspectives of His unfolding creation for those who seek Him with
all their heart, mind, soul, and strength.
There is no need for fear. Fear never nurtures
faith. It is my belief that God inhabits even the apparent randomness of our world. For
that, I am thankful.
