I believe Random Design provides a comprehensive and effective remedy
to the controversy. It can accomplish this unexpected feat because it grants each side
in the debate exactly what they claim to want.
When Christians speak in opposition to evolution in education settings, it appears to the
scientists and educators that the Christians are trying to insert religious beliefs into
science. This is an idea that is absolutely abhorrent to them. These scientists and
educators appropriately recognize that science must be free to explore the realities of
the natural world. It cannot be subject to religious veto.
Random Design fully grants science that freedom, encouraging scientists and educators
to learn all they can about the physical and biological realities of our world and to
follow these discoveries wherever they lead.
On the other hand, many Christians fear that science and atheistic scientists are bent
on removing God from the equation of life altogether – starting in the public school
science classrooms of America. This concern is not unjustified as evidenced by statements
