I've known two kinds of Christians in my day. One kind felt duty-bound
to guard the fort in which was kept all the answers, pre-determined and agreed upon. They
were always defending something, which meant their backside always faced the "mystery"
while their front-side faced what could only be called enemy. The other kind of Christian
I've known is an explorer, someone who believes that the world is bigger than guessed.
This person is open to tomorrow and faces the mystery with an openness that is faithful to
the Creator.
Dr. Colling is the second kind of Christian. He asks questions. He loves his family. He is
unselfish. He serves. He teaches biology with a gleam in his eye.
Dr. Colling has strong scientific credentials. I have strong theological credentials. I wish
I were as good a scientist as he is a theologian. I strongly recommend Random Designer to
all who are willing to face the mystery of life as an explorer.
